9 Houseplants for Cleaner Air at Home

Today more and more people spend almost all their time indoors. Although the air in major cities is highly contaminated , it appears that the stale air in your home or office is even more harmful to health. Regular aeration , even if you live in a busy street , is one way to ensure cleaner air. To enhance the effect , however , you can add to your home or office any of the plants which are believed to purify the air and can filter up to 90 % of harmful impurities and chemicals. These are essentially volatile organic substances are removed by chemicals, dyes, flavors, hygiene products and even of new carpet.

It has been shown that properly selected houseplants not only filtered but also moisturize the air in the rooms. Some of them have antibacterial properties as separate airborne chemicals that kill pathogens. For example, asparagus can absorb heavy metals disinfected geraniums and cactus neutralize radiation. 4 . Dracaena , Dracaena massangeana – plant purified from trichlorethylene and benzene, but is considered the best ratenie against formaldehyde in the air of the room

5 .Ficus, Ficus benjamina – Ficus removes toxins from the air such as trichlorethylene, benzene, octane, terpene and formaldehyde.

6 . Spathiphyllum , Spathiphyllum – although neutralize trichlorethylene, benzene, ammonia and formaldehyde, but it is poisonous to cats.

7 . Tradeskantsiya, Tradescantia pallida – tradeskantsiyata removes poisons such as trichlorethylene, benzene, toluene and terpene.

8 . English or plain  ivy , Hedera helix – ivy absorbs trichlorethylene, octane, toluene and terpene, but is effective against benzene from all domestic plants.

9. Chlorophytum, Chlorophytum comosum, Chlorophytum elatum – green works well against formaldehyde, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide in the room.
